Choose the quotation route that matches the evidence you have
A controlled drawing is the fastest basis for a firm custom gear quote. A sample can support reverse engineering but requires wear and mating-condition review. A performance target needs engineering definition before price and lead time can be fixed. Each route still needs quantity, material, heat treatment, inspection and delivery scope.

Drawing-based quote
Send controlled 2D/3D files, tooth data, datums, tolerances and specifications. Missing items should be listed as written assumptions.
Sample-based quote
Provide the sample, photos, key dimensions, OEM number and mating information. Worn parts may not represent the original geometry.
Performance-based quote
Define torque, speed, duty cycle, life, noise, space, environment and interfaces. Engineering work precedes a production quote.
